What's Happening in the Tiger Classroom!
It is hard to believe that we are finished with one trimester of kindergarten! I am looking forward to meeting with everyone during our conference time. If you are unable to make it or need to change your time, please use the link below, email me or call the office. There are limited slots available and I want the opportunity to meet with everyone during this time. It is also very important to arrive on time, as the allotted time is short and I know we have a lot to discuss!

It is hard to believe that we all ready had snow! So let the fun begin with dressing and undressing for the beginning of our day, recess and the end of the day! I know that Mrs. Smith provided some helpful tips in the principal message about outerwear and the best way to manage it! I loved her idea about putting it in a different bag then their backpack for a couple of reasons: first their backpacks get so full and it makes it hard to put their take home folders, library books etc in them, after playing outside their snowpants, gloves/mittens are wet and then they put that in their backpack and then the things in their backpacks get wet (take home folders, library books). Also, if you would like to leave a pair of gym shoes in their cubby that is a great way to make sure they do not miss gym and we can keep the snow and slush out of our classroom and off the carpet and rug! Thank you for your help with this!
Literacy
We are completing our first trimester of literacy targets and opinion writing. I sent home the last 2 sight words introduced during this trimester: am, little. We will continue to work on short vowels and our next one we will concentrate on is the short "i". We also daily work on rhyming, syllables, identifying the beginning and ending sounds in words.
Math
As our November calendar continues to reveal 2D and 3D shapes we are comparing and contrasting them using a double bubble. The children are learning 2D shapes such as hexagon, trapezoid, rhombus along with circle, square, rectangle and triangle. 3D shapes such as cone, cube, cylinder and sphere. We are also looking for real world examples of them. Our number line and daily counting continue as does counting by 5's, 10's and counting from another number besides 1.
Science
We completed our unit on Pushes and Pulls! The children were video taped using Seesaw app demonstrating their slide. I will be sending you the information on how to access Seesaw this week, so that you can view the video and begin to see other pieces that they want to post and share with you. Thank you for your patience in getting this set up.
